Why Flush Toilets Are Crap?
Did You Know
In this episode, we explore how flush toilets are one of the leading causes of greenhouse gas emissions. We also discuss what we can do to reduce our impact on the environment.
The average person uses the toilet about six times a day, and each flush sends about four gallons of water down the drain. That’s a lot of water, and it takes energy to pump it all through the sewer system and then to treat it at a wastewater plant before releasing it back into the environment. In fact, toilets are responsible for about 2 percent of all the global energy used each day.
